WXP Panels
What are WXP Panels?
Woodsons Cross Timber Panels (WXP) are a type of engineered wood product made from multiple layers of profiled cladding board timber that are connected with nails. The boards are laid with cross-layer method which creates a strong and durable panel that is resistant to warping and twisting.
This method also gives stability to the wood to keep the elements measurements static through the long period of time without being much affected by the drying.
Woodsons panels are produced industrial way meaning the quality of the product is ongoing and ensured by the controlled production processes.
What can you do with the panels?
Our panels are produced for building material. These panels can be used in a range of applications, including flooring and walls. The panels are produced in large scale measurements – this means that the buildings can be assembled from a small number of elements.
The elements cut from the panels can be in different thicknesses, sizes and shapes. Every kind and shape of cutouts for windows and doors can be easily cut into the panel at the factory or by the customer themself.
It is also possible to use the panels as a raw material to produce furniture, fences and other wooden products.
General characteristics of the panels
- Number of the layers from 3 to 12 layers
- Maximum sizes of the panels 2,7 x 12 m
- Weight of the panel about 400 kg per m3
- Option from color treatment from one side or both sides of the panel
- Thickness of the panel from 50 mm to 250 mm
- Different cladding board profile types available
Why are Woodsons WXP Panels good for using
Strong and durable
The crosswise orientation of the timber layers creates a strong and stable panel that is less likely to warp or twist over time.
Good acoustic characteristics
Panels offer excellent acoustic characteristics, effectively reducing sound transmission and providing a quieter indoor environment.
Good thermal properties
Our panels are offering better heat insulation properties than the usual cross laminated timber (CLT) or log houses due to the presence of air grooves in the boards, providing enhanced thermal performance and energy efficiency. The panel helps to keep the heat away when its hot and the cold away when its freezing.
Sustainable
Panels are made from sustainable materials and can be easily recycled at the end of their life.
Aestetic appeal
The natural texture and grain of the timber gives cross timber panels a unique and attractive look that can enhance the design of a building.
Free from chemicals
Woodsons panels offers an eco-friendly alternative to traditional laminated timber, as it does not require the use of glues or chemicals, promoting a healthier and more sustainable construction method.
